Summary
ManyWords does not collect or share any personal data. There is no account, no ads and no analytics or usage tracking. Everything stays on your phone.
What is stored and where
The words you have seen, your favorites, your level and your settings are stored only on your phone. They are never sent to our servers or anyone else’s.
The widget reads the word of the day from a storage space shared by the app and its widget on the same phone. It never leaves the phone.
Pronunciation
Pronunciation uses your phone’s own voice. Nothing is recorded or sent.
Daily reminder (optional)
It is off by default. If you turn it on, the app schedules one local notification a day on your phone, at the time you choose. There is no server and no push notifications: nobody else knows whether you use it or at what time.
Your phone asks for permission to show notifications. You can turn the reminder off in the app’s Settings or in your phone’s settings.
Save to ManyCards and export
If you use «Save to ManyCards» or export your words (file, spreadsheet or text), the app creates a file and you choose where it goes. From then on it is handled by the app or service you chose, under its own rules.
Your phone’s backup
If your phone’s backup is turned on (iCloud on iPhone, Google on Android), the system may include the app’s data in it. That backup is stored in your own account, you control it and we have no access to it. It keeps you from losing anything when you change phones; if you do not want it, you can turn it off in your phone’s settings.
News and "More apps"
To show these two sections, the app downloads two public text files from this website (the news and the list of apps in the family). The request carries none of your data: nothing you added, no identifiers, no cookies.
As with any internet connection, the server hosting the website receives the IP address in order to respond and may keep it for a while in its technical logs. We do not use it to identify you or combine it with anything. Without internet, the app shows the last saved copy.
Stores and other apps
The buttons to rate the app, see other apps or open ManyCards take you to the App Store, Google Play or ManyCards, which have their own policies. Store links include a campaign tag (the app and section name) so we know which screen a download came from; it contains none of your data.
Deleting your data
If you delete the app, the words you have seen, your favorites and settings are deleted from the phone, except for what may remain in your phone’s backup (iCloud or Google), which is in your account and under your control.
Children
ManyWords is suitable for everyone and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If anything in this policy changes, you will see it on this page with a new date.
